WH Volleyball Wins

Whitman-Hanson played at Middleboro tonight and earned the straight set victory. The game scores were 25-21(WH), 25-17(WH) and 25-14(WH). The Panthers played a solid game and earned the victory with consistent serve receive and smart play at the net. The Panthers took control of the match after the first set. The Panthers were led by their middles Captain Halle Julian and Ella Sweeney. Julian led the team with 9 kills and 4 blocks. Madison Adams and Cathryn Johnson held the panthers in the back row with solid serve receives and digs. The Panthers are now 1-5 on the season and prepare to travel to Plymouth North Monday.

Patriot League girls soccer

The Whitman Hanson girls' soccer team improved to 5-0 with a 5-0 shutout of Plymouth North.  Lauren Bonavita paced the Panthers with 2 first half goals and completed the hatrick with an early goal in the second half to put the Panthers up 3-0. Riley Bina and Samantha Smith(1 assist) accounted for the other Panther goals. Lexi Grazioso, Anika Floeck, and Delaney Hall all turned in strong performances. Skylar Kuzmich and Reese Codero split time in net to earn the shutout.

Boys' Varsity Soccer Wins


Whitman- Hanson hosted Plymouth North in a Patriot League game tonight. W-H won 3-0. Goals were scored by Kyle Nehiley, Brendan Nehiley (assisted as well)  and Nolan Clack (assisted as well). Senior, captain Anthony Pasciuto had the shut out for the W-H Panthers.

W-H is now 2-3 in the Patriot League.

Patriot league girls soccer

Whitman Hanson improved to 4-0 with a 4-0 shutout over Plymouth South. Lauren Bonavita led the way with the hat trick while freshman Alexis Billings recorded her first varsity goal. Eve Montgomery picked up 3 assists and Anika Floeck picked up the other. The defense of Olivia Johnson, Sammy Smith, Betty Blake and Elana Wood were strong all night limiting Plymouth South to 3 shots. Skylar Kuzmich earned the shutout with 2 saves. Riley Bina, Madeline Nagle, Delaney Hall and Lexi Grazioso all turned in strong performances for the Panthers.

WH/PN Golf Tie

The Whitman-Hanson Panthers tied the Plymouth North Blue Eagles 268-268 off the back nine at Ridder today. The tie puts the Panthers' record at 2-3-1 overall, and 1-3-1 in the league.

Jr. Captain Owen Manning stepped up again as the bright spot for the Panthers with a 4 over par, 40, while senior Nick Duffy helped keep it close with his 6 over, 42.

Weather permitting, the team will host the Scituate Sailors tomorrow.

WH Volleyball @ Pembroke 9/15/17

Whitman-Hanson volleyball traveled to Pembroke Friday and lost 3-0 against a tough and spirited home team. Game scores were 13-25 (Pembroke), 21-25 (Pembroke) and 11-25(Pembroke).  The Panthers struggled in serve receive and failed to pull themselves up. Stand out players for the Panthers tonight were Allison Hanlon with strong outside attacks and Maya Faich with solid passes in defense. The Panthers are 0-3 and host Hingham Monday. 


Panther Golf Defeats EB Vikings

> The Whitman-Hanson golf team were happy to return to their home course today at Ridder Farm Golf Course after being on the road the past three days. Taking on the East Bridgewater Vikings, who also have Ridder as their home course, the Panthers earned their second win of the season with a 263-312 victory.

> Playing off the more challenging back nine at the course, senior captain JP Drier stepped up to the challenge for the designated home team today, shooting an impressive 2 over par, 38. His fellow captain, junior Owen Manning, along with senior Anthony Palmacci, also played well, each with a 5 over par, 41. Finally, senior Ryan Sawtelle helped to contribute to the Panthers' win as well with his 7 over par performance.

> On a side note, sophomores Brian Fox and Ian Brown made their Panther Golf debut; the experience of playing in a match will serve them well, as they both hope to be major contributors in the future.

> The Panthers are back at it on Monday, playing host to Plymouth North.

WH Golf teams Loses to PS Panthers

The WH golf team continues to struggle as they lost to the Plymouth South Panther today 261-266 at Pine Hills Golf Club.

Jr. Captain Owen Manning and sophomore Matt Korzec were the bright spots for Whitman-Hanson, both shooting a 5 over par, 41, but it wasn't enough. The loss drops the team's record to 1-3 on the season. With four matches this week, they are back home tomorrow to host East Bridgewater, where they hope to earn their second win.

WH Field Hockey Falls

The Whitman-Hanson Panthers played against the Plymouth North Eagles today and lost 5-0.  The Eagles scored quickly and added 3 more tallies before the half.   The scored their 5th and final goal in the second half.   The Panthers had their opportunities in the Eagles end,  but failed to capitalize.  The Panthers are looking to rebound tomorrow against Middleboro.

Patriot league girls soccer

The Whitman Hanson Girls soccer team improved to 2-0 with a 6-1 victory over Pembroke. Pembroke took a 1-0 lead 15 minutes in to the match and then it was all Whitman Hanson from there. Lauren Bonavita(4 goals) put Whitman Hanson up 2-1 at the half with two blasts from out deep. Lauren picked up where she left off in the second half netting two more goals and putting Whitman Hanson up 4-1. Sophomore Riley Bina followed Bonavitas' scoring with 2 goals of her own. The defense of Betty Blake, Sammy Smith, Olivia Johnson and Elana Wood limited Pembroke's chances and helped goalkeepers Katie Amado and Skylar Kuzmich earn the win in goal. Lexi Grazioso, Alexis Billings and Madeline Nagle turned in strong performances.


WH Varsity Volleyball Game SL @ Home 9/13/17

Whitman-Hanson volleyball hosted Silver Lake on Wednesday and despite a strong start lost the match 3-1. The game scores were 25-22(WH), 18-25(SL), 24-26(SL) and 14-25(SL). The Panthers started strong and stayed in the match with close game scores. They played smart with high energy in the second and third sets. Whitman-Hanson struggled in serve receive and could not overcome the difficulty in set four. The Panthers were led tonight by power middle captain Halle Julian with 11 kills and 10 blocks. Tori Perry led in assists and served strong. Also playing well for the panthers was sophomore Ella Sweeney showing huge improvement in the front row. The Panthers are 0-2 and travel to Pembroke Friday. 


WH defeated by Hingham in Golf

The WH Panther Golf team dropped their second match of the season to the Hingham Harbormen 279-256 today at South Shore Country Club.

Now sitting at 1-2 on the season, the team travels to Pinehills tomorrow to face Plymouth South in hopes of rebounding from today's loss. Though it is still early in the season, the team has not yet played to their full potential, which they hope to do in their next two upcoming matches, tomorrow and Friday.

Patriot League Cross Country - Whitman-Hanson

 Whitman-Hanson (Boys) 19 - Scituate 44


The Panthers (2-0)  placed 5 of the first 6 runners to topple Scituate (0-1) on the Sailors 2.4 Mile home course.  Pacing W-H was Senior Andrew Newman who covered the course in 13:05 ahead of Scituate's Birch Swart (2nd, 13:42).  W-H Senior Jack Ryan was a mere 2 seconds behind Swart at 13:44.  Also scoring for W-H were FR Liam Cafferty (4th, 14:14), SR Alex Uva (5th, 14:44) and SR Cam Wilson (6th, 14:45)


Whitman-Hanson (Girls) 23 - Scituate 32


Senior Captain Nicole Norve  finished first for the Panthers (1-1)  who outran Scituate 23-32  on Tuesday afternoon on the Sailors home course.  Norve covered the 2.4 Mile route in 16:19 to finish ahead of teammate  SR Julia Cosgrave (2nd, 17:15.)  Katie Milligan was Scituate's top runner placing 3rd.  Also scoring for W-H were SR Captain Camryn Boyce (4th, 17:42), JR Maeve Rooney (6th, 17:57) and SO Victoria Boss (8th, 18:30.)



Panther Golf Evens Record

The Whitman Hanson golf squad traveled to Pembroke Country Club to take on the Titans in their second match of the season. Though it wasn't their best performance as a team, they pulled off the win 271-281 to even their record at 1-1 overall.

Four Panthers tied for the team low at 8 over: Jr Captain Owen Manning, and seniors Matt Stanish, Nick Duffy, and Tommy Bombardier.

With a busy road ahead of them, the Panthers were happy to get a win in their first of seven consecutive matches to play - tomorrow they travel to South Shore Country Club to take on the Patriot League favorite Hingham Harbormen.

WH Field Hockey Falls at Home

The Whitman-Hanson Panthers played against the Scituate Sailors and lost 2-1 in Whitman, MA.  The Sailors got the first tally and held a 1-0 lead at the half.  In the second half, the Sailors scored again.  Tina Woodward of the Panthers had a furious rush to the net and scored with 6 minutes remaining.  The Panthers defense was no short than amazing lead the way by Ashley Memmolo, Jess Green, and Olivia Sheehan. Senior goalie Molly MacKinnon was incredible with 21 saves.
