The Whitman-Hanson Girls Varsity Lacrosse team took on Plymouth North at home in a league match-up this afternoon. W-H wanted revenge after losing to Plymouth North earlier in the season. The Panthers came in hungry and fought for every loose ball and every draw control. W-H had possession of the ball for the majority of the game. Scoring for the Panthers was Rachel Kelly (4 goals), Taylor McVeigh (3 goals), Kaity Carpenter (2 goals), Rylee Holmes (1 goal), and sophomore Mikayla White with her first goal of the season (and first assist).  The ball was moving around so well for W-H as Liz Hyslip, Rachel Spillane and Majenski all tallied assists. W-H would not have walked away with the 12-7 win however without their defense. The defense was in lockdown mode and made everything hard for Plymouth North. The win brings the Panthers to 6-9 on the season (5-3 league).

The Panthers offense really came alive in the second and with the draw controls, it was a new game. The Panthers defense also played excellent in the second half holding Hull to only 3 goals. Unfortunately, they couldn't overcome the initial hole they dug themselves into as Hull won 14-12. Leading the Panthers in scoring was Rachel Kelly (4 goals, 2 assists). McVeigh, Liz Hyslip, and Gabby Majenski each had 2 goals. Kaity Carpenter and Arica McCarthy each had a goal as well. The Panthers are now 5-8 on the season (4-2 league).

Softball Stats May3

Hi Coaches-
Thanks to everyone who sent me stats.  I hope EVERYONE will send stats next week -  it makes it so much easier for me if everyone gives  me at least  your league and overall records.

The Globe reminded me that they can not take batters without hits and at bats, so some of our hitters will not appear because I didn't have those stats.

There have been questions about records -
I have attached a Patriot League schedule with all the scores I have.  All of the games on this schedule - and only those games - are counted toward your league record.  Every other game goes to your overall record, even if it is a team in our league.

If you have additions or corrections to that schedule please let me know.

Thank you and Good Luck this week!    (Warm weather - Yay!)
