Panthers earn 11th win against Hanover

The Panthers went to Hanover and won 3-0 with game scores of 25-20, 25-20 and 25-20. The Panthers came out in the first set and struggled early on with their passing making several errors that led to Hanover points. Eventually the Panthers were able to get comfortable passing the Hanover attack and got into their offense getting several kills. Both teams played back and forth for several points but the Panthers were able to pull away for the win with tough serving by Chiara Cassiano. In the second set Hanover started out strong forcing the Panthers to make some early errors on defense and at the net but the Panthers pushed through and sealed the second set victory thanks to strong play by Halle Julian and Sophie O'Brien in the middle. In the third and deciding set Hanover struggled to get their offense going because of the Panther defense and blocking that forced Hanover to tip and push the ball over the net instead of hitting the ball. Madison Scott led the team in the third set with smart hitting that helped the Panthers seal the victory. Playing well for the Panthers were Cassiano with 10 kills and 4 aces; O'Brien with 11 kills and 2 blocks; Scott with 7 kills and Alyssa Gacicia with 29 assists. The Panthers host Hingham on Wednesday and hope to earn their 12th win of the season.
