Gabe Knudsen struck out 10 batters as the starting pitcher led Hanover past Scituate 8-0 on Tuesday. Knudsen (92 pitches) allowed two hits and zero runs over six innings while walking two. Hanover got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Knudsen singled, Connor Hutchison grounded out, Scituate committed an error, and Kostek balked, each scoring one run. The Hawks added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning when Cole Hendrickson drew a walk, scoring one run, Knudsen singled, scoring two runs, Kostek induced James Solari to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.
Knudsen provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Hanover with three runs batted in. The pitcher went 2-for-3 on the day.
Max Aikins (15 pitches) pitched the 7 inning for Hanover, striking out two and walking one. The Hawks were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Hanover improved to 14-3 on the season and finish up the regular season tomorrow against North Quincy.
