Re: Hanover 8 Scituate 4 - 5/1/24

John McDonald collected three hits in four at bats, as Hanover defeated Scituate 8-4 on Wednesday. McDonald tripled in the sixth inning, singled in the fourth inning, and singled in the first inning. The Hawks got on the board in the top of the first inning after Gabe Knudsen grounded out, and Connor Hutchison singled, each scoring one run. A single by Hutchison extended the Hanover Varsity Hawks lead to 3-1 in the top of the third inning. Owen Kennedy (106 pitches) earned the win for Hanover. The righty surrendered nine hits and four runs over six innings, striking out eight and walking two.  Hutchison collected the save after shutting down Scituate in the 7th (14 pitches).
Hanover accumulated 12 hits in the game. Hutchison, McDonald, and Thomas Perkins each collected three hits.  Hutchison and Perkins each drove in two runs for Hanover Varsity Hawks. Sam Light collected two hits in four at bats.
