The Whitman Hanson golf team lost to a dominating Hingham team today at Ridder 211-238. Hinghams score may have been the lowest ever recorded by a team at the course and was lead by their sophomore sensation Rich Miller who shot an unbelievable 4 under par 30.
With the loss, the Panthers fall to 7-8 on the season and now need to win 2 of their final 3 matches to earn a berth in the state tournament qualifying round. Today's performance, although a loss, was encouraging to the team, as they had four players in the 30s. Captain Cole Manning lead the way for the Panthers with a 3 over 37, and sophomore Matt Stanish stepped up big again, shooting a 4 over par 38. Juniors John Murphy and Matt Josselyn also played well both shooting a 39.
The Panthers are home again tomorrow to host a struggling Middleboro team, which they absolutely need to win to give themselves a chance for post season play.
