Whitman-Hanson Girls Cross Country hosted Duxbury today on it's 5K home course and came away with a victory 21-34, bouncing back after its first loss in 9 years last week versus North Plymouth. Senior Co-Captain Samantha Coletti led the way with the win in 19:21, ahead of Co-Captain Abbie Newman who finished in 20:51 for second place. Sophomores Nicole Norve (4th, 21:08), Lillian Perkins-Reisdorf (6th, 24:04) and Julia Cosgrave (8th, 24:14) rounded out the scoring for the Panthers. Catie Cass (3rd, 20:59) was Duxbury's top finisher in the loss.
The Whitman-Hanson Boys improved to 5-0 on the season behind Junior Captain Lukas Moscoso (1st, 17:19.) Duxbury's Will Bittrich (2nd, 18:03) and Sam Worley (3rd, 18:07) ran great races, but Whitman-Hanson placed 5 of the next 6 runners to seal the win. Bryce Pulkinen (4th, 18;10), Sam Evans (5th 18:18), Patrick Duffey (7th, 18:30), Jack Ryan (8th, 18:34) and Andrew Newman (9th, 18:41) were impressive in the victory.
